Bavaria 1804 thaler Dav-546
This specimen was lot 162 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €430 (about US$580 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, Maximilian I. (IV.) Joseph, 1799-1806-1825. Konv.-Taler 1804. Leicht justiert, vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian IV Joseph, 1799-1825, convention thaler of 1804, light adjustment marks, extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1803-05 with the lion on the reverse facing left (Dav-547) or right (shown here). The 1804 is scarce but the most common of the three dates.
