This specimen was lot 2907 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BAVARIA: Maximilian IV, Josef, as Elector, 1799-1805, AE pfenning, 1804, rare type, VF-XF, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." The auctioneers misattributed this to KM 634, which is a two pfenning (we use the obsolete spelling as shown on the coin). This type was struck 1799-1805 while Maximilian was elector of Bavaria; he was promoted to king by Napoleon in 1806.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.2 g, copper, 18 mm diameter, plain edge.
Catalog reference: KM-634 (formerly KM 306), Cr-102, Hahn-410, Wittelsbach-2578.
