Bavaria 1805 3 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 164 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €135 (about US$182 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, Maximilian I. (IV.) Joseph, 1799-1806-1825. 3 Kreuzer 1805. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian IV Joseph, 1799-1825, three kreuzer of 1805, extremely fine to uncirculated. From the collection of Bernhard Terletzki.)"
This type of 1804-05 is the last three kreuzer or groschen struck before Maximilian Joseph was promoted to king by Napoleon. Like most billon coins, it is rare in nice condition.
