Bavaria 1805 thaler Dav-547
This specimen was lot 763 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, 1623 Kurfürstentum, Maximilian IV. (I.) Joseph, 1799-1825. Konventionstaler 1805, München. FÜR GOTT UND VATERLAND. Min. just. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian Joseph, 1799-1825, convention thaler of 1805, Munich mint. 'For God and Fatherland.' Minor adjustment marks, good extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1804-05 with the lion on the reverse facing left (shown here) or right (Dav-546). The 1804 is rare and the 1805 is scarce.
