This specimen was lot 71398, in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. 20 Kreuzer, 1781-A. Bamberg Mint. Karl Theodor. NGC MS-65. Stunning quality for the type, this exceedingly brilliance piece features a tremendous array of shimmering brilliance paired with its argent surfaces. The finest certified by NGC." This type was struck at Munich 1778-99 and at Amberg (not Bamberg) 1778-83.
