Sincona sale 89, lot 559

This specimen was lot 559 in Sincona sale 89 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$859 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, Herzogtum, seit 1623 Kurfürstentum, Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Taler 1626, München. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Gutes vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Frankfurter Münzhandlung 139, Frankfurt am Main, November 1992, Los 778. (Germany, duchy of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, thaler of 1626, Munich mint. Rare in this condition, Good extremely fine.)"

The SCWC notes quite a few Bavarian thalers for 1626: KM 178.1/Dav-6090, KM 195/Dav-6070 (shown here, struck 1625-26), KM 208/Dav-6073, KM 209/Dav-6074 and KM 210/Dav-6092.
