Austria 1823-A thaler Dav-7
This specimen was lot 4916 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €725 (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Franz I., 1804-1835. Konv.-Taler 1823 A, Wien. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Aus der Sammlung eines sächsischen Naturwissenschaftlers. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1804-35, convention thaler of 1823, Vienna mint. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1817-24 at Vienna ("A"), Kremnitz ("B"), Prague ("C"), Karlsburg ("E"), Nagybanya ("G"), Milan ("M") and Venice ("V"). It is common altho many individual dates are scarce.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
