Sincona sale 39, lot 4174

This specimen was lot 4174 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"AUSTRIA, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 Taler 1824 E. Karlsburg. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Leicht justiert. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, thaler of 1824, Karlsburg mint. Very fine-extremely fine. Minor adjustment marks.)"

This thaler was issued 1817-24 from six mints and is common. This one likely circulated in Hungary.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 27.99 g.
