Sincona sale 39, lot 4072

This specimen was lot 4072 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$120 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780 20 Kreuzer 1780. Prag IVS.-I.K. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, twenty kreuzer of 1780, Prague mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

Twenty kreuzer were minted 1754-97 for Francis I, Maria Theresia, Joseph II, Leopold II and Francis II from all the imperial mints in a bewildering array of varieties. Twenty kreuzer made one-sixth of a thaler. This one, struck for Maria Theresia, is known for 1767-80 from Vienna, Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Prague (shown here).
