Austria 1769-A IC-SK 30 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1474 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$304 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Joseph II. 1765-1790. 30 Kreuzer 1769 A, Wien. Mit den Signaturen CA-SK (Johann Augustin Cronberg, Münzmeister in Wien, und Sigismund Anton Klemmer, Wardein in Wien). Selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC MS61. Winziger Schrötlingsfehler am Rand. (Austria, Joseph II, 1765-90, thirty kreuzer of 1769, Vienna mint, with mintmaster's initials "CA SK". Rare, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Minor flan flaw on edge.)"
This type is listed for 1767-69 and was struck only at Vienna. It is the last of the denomination, according to the SCWC, yet later ones exist. In Austria of the late eighteenth century, one thaler = 120 kreuzer, making this piece one quarter of a thaler.
