This specimen was lot 4861 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$4,127 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Konv.-Taler 1769 SC, Günzburg. KM 21, Dav-1149; Eypeltauer 191. Patina, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines sächsischen Naturwissenschaftlers. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, convention thaler of 1769, Gunzburg mint. Toned, extremely fine.)"

This thaler was issued 1765-72 from the Günzburg mint and is common. Günzburg was in the Austrian Burgau, located on the upper Danube between Ulm and Augsburg. Like all Maria Theresia thalers minted after 1765, the queen is depicted wearing a widow's veil, noting the death of her husband Francis of Lorraine. The convention thaler, adopted in the 1750's, was 28.06 g, 0.833 fine, whereas earlier types were 28.82 g, 0.875 fine.
