Sincona sale 38, lot 1809

This specimen was lot 1809 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$780 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Maria Theresia, 1740-1780 Dukat 1761. Wien. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, ducat of 1761, Vienna mint. Very fine.)"

Friedberg lists this type for 1747-62 and 1765 from Vienna (shown here), Prague, Graz and Hall. For some reason, this common type is missing from the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.46 g.
