This specimen was lot 1719 in Jean Elsen sale 117 (Brussels, June 2013), where it sold for €95 (about US$150 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SAINT EMPIRE, Marie-Thérèse (1740-1780), AR Taler, 1760, Vienne. Droit: B. diad., drapé et cuirassé à droite. Revers: Aigle impériale éployée. Fines griffes. presque Très Beau. (Austria, Maria Theresia (1740-80), silver thaler of 1760, Vienna mint. Obverse: armored, draped, diademed bust to right; reverse: imperial eagle displayed. Fine scratches, about very fine.)"

On the death of Charles VI in 1740, the redoubtable Maria Theresia was crowned Archduchess of Austria and queen of Hungary but, being a woman, could not be given the imperial crown. Therefore, after much debate and a war fomented by Frederick the Great of Prussia, her husband Francis of Lorraine was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in 1745. This thaler was issued 1754-65 from the Vienna mint and is common.
