Jean Elsen sale 154, lot 1643

This specimen was lot 1643 in Jean Elsen sale 154 (Brussels, March 2023), where it sold for €420 (about US$544 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SAINT EMPIRE, François Ier (1745-1765), AR Taler, 1760 PR, Prague. D/ B. l., dr. et cuir. à d. R/ Aigle impériale couronnée. Nettoyé. Petit défaut de flan. Très Beau à Superbe. (Austria, Francis I, 1745-65, silver thaler of 1760, Prague mint. Obverse: laureate and armored bust to right; reverse: crowned imperial eagle displayed. Cleaned, minor planchet defect, Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"

This thaler was struck at the Prague mint 1751-65. Similar thalers were also struck at Kremnitz (KB), Hall (HA), Vienna (WI) and Karlsburg (CA).
