This specimen was lot 6050 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 1/2 Taler, 1758-HA. Hall Mint. Franz I (1745-65). NGC MS-63. Slight weakness to center of strike. Covered with attractive multi-hued toning highlighted by flashing luster in outer peripheries lighting up electric blue coloring." This type was struck 1751-65 at GR (Graz), KB (Kremnitz), WI (Vienna), CA (Karlsburg), HA (Hall, shown here) and is common. Francis of Lorraine was made Holy Roman Emperor in 1745 but his wife, Maria Theresia of Austria, was the real power.
