Hungary 1758-KB 1/2 thaler
This specimen was lot 4626 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,443 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1758, KB, Kremnitz. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung AU Details cleaned (6643585-012). Hübsche Patina, min. justiert, vorzüglich +. (Austria, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, half convention thaler of 1758, Kremnitz mint. Graded NGC AU Details Cleaned; handsome patina, minor adjustment marks, extremely fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1753-58 for Maria Theresia. The SCWC gives the reichsthaler standard for this but it could also have been struck to the convention standard (14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver) being implemented at this time. The coin is not marked with the weight ("AD NORM· CONV·").
