"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Franz I. 1745-1765. Konv.-Taler 1751, WI, Wien. Fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. (Holy Roman Empire, Francis I, 1745-65, convention thaler of 1751, Vienna mint. About extremely fine.)"
This design was intended to be the standard thaler struck throughout the Hapsburg domains during the reign of emperor Franz I, husband of Maria Theresia. It was struck at Vienna (shown here), Hall, Prague, Kremnitz and Carlsburg. The early issues (Dav-1152, 1746-51) were struck as reichs thalers and the later issues (Dav-1153, 1748-56, shown here) were struck as convention thalers (lower weight). Kremnitz was the only other mint that struck both standards.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
