Künker sale 406, lot 4632

This specimen was lot 4632 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €480 (about US$630 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Franz I. 1745-1765. 1/2 Reichstaler 1751, Graz. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung UNC Details cleaned (6643585-014). R Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Austria, Francis I, 1745-65, half thaler of 1751, Graz mint. Graded NGC Unc Details, rare, handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

Half thalers for 1751 include KM 1741 (Maria Theresia), KM 1797 (Maria Theresia) and KM 2036 (Francis I, mintmarks KB, WI, GR). This one was struck 1751-65 at Graz, Vienna and Kremnitz and is fairly common.
