This specimen was lot 3860 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $2,760. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. Taler, 1713 (Hall). Charles VI, 1711-1740. Laureate head right. Reverse: Crowned double headed eagle with arms. Beautiful original old time toning. NGC graded MS-64." Austrian thalers for 1713 include Dav-1089, KM 1522/Dav-1035, KM 1548/Dav-1107, KM 1551/Dav-1039, KM 1552/Dav-1050 (shown here), KM 1553/Dav-1046 and KM 1554/Dav-1047. This type was struck 1713-14 and is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 116,000.
