This specimen was lot 3849 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $718.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. Taler, 1714 (Vienna). Charles VI, 1711-1740. Laureate head right within beaded border. Reverse: Crowned double eagle. Reflective fields with light gray toning. NGC graded Uncirculated, Details (Surface Hairlines)." This type was struck 1712-18 and is fairly common. Similar types were issued by Hall, Graz, Augsburg, Breslau and St. Veit.

Recorded mintage: unknown but reasonably common.

Specification: silver.
