This specimen was lot 2595 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,359 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Taler 1627. Titel Ferdinand II. Gutes vorzüglich. Aussergewöhnliche Erhaltung. (Germany, city of Augsburg, thaler of 1627, struck in the name of Ferdinand II, good extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1627-28 only and is a somewhat scarce issue for this locale. The pine cone supported by the angels is the symbol of the city.
