Augsburg 1627 thaler Dav-5026
This specimen was lot 4109 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$3,936 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUGSBURG, STADT, Reichstaler 1627, mit Titel Ferdinands II. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 63 (6643510-005). Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Feine Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (city of Augsburg, thaler of 1627, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Graded NGC MS-63, scarce in this quality, cabinet example, fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1627 only during the Thirty Years War. Augsburg was occupied by the Swedes 1631-32.
