Sincona sale 69, lot 98

This specimen was lot 98 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$133 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND | Augsburg, Stadt. 1/9 Taler 1628. Mit Titel Ferdinands II. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. (Germany, city of Augsburg, one ninth thaler of 1628, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Good very fine, Nicely toned.)"

This denomination was struck 1623-28 and abandoned thereafter.
