This specimen was lot 22001 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $164.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN. 1/2 Amani, SH 1299 (1920). NGC MS-61. From the Graywood Collection. Ex: Coin Galleries Sale 02/ 2002, Lot #464." A one year type, likely very scarce. It is dated using the Solar Hegira calendar, which starts on the same date as the traditional Hegira calendar but uses solar years rather than lunar years.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.3 g, 0.900 fine gold.
