This specimen was lot 1289 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $446.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Amanullah, 1919-1929, AV amani, SH1299, Almost Unc to Unc." One amani was equal to ten Afghan rupees. This issue was accompanied by half, two and five amani in gold. It is dated using the Solar Hegira calendar, which starts on the same date as the traditional Hegira calendar but uses solar years rather than lunar years.

Specification: 4.6 g, 0.900 fine gold, 22 mm diameter.
