This specimen was lot 1457 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $540. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Amanullah, 1919-1929, AR 1/2 rupee, AH1337, king's name within a circle, below al-ghazi, date below // denomination above mosque; both sides within wreath, mount removed, choice VF, RRR, ex Hakim Hamidi Collection." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). This type was made AH 1337 only. The other variety of half rupee (KM 852) is common.
