This specimen was lot 3579 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Amanullah, 1919-1929, AE shahi, AH1337, 12 stars on the obverse, denomination in words atop the reverse; thick flan, lovely example, VF-XF, R, ex Hakim Hamidi Collection." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). This type was struck AH 1337 only in thick (shown here) and thin flan varieties (KM 860). One shahi was fifty dinars.
