This specimen was lot 33912 in Heritage sale 3098 (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $2,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Elizabeth II gold Proof 5 Pounds 2010 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. A gem, bearing Ultra Cameo fields and near-pristine surfaces." This type was struck 1999-2015 as a revival of the old five pounds struck in Victorian and Edwardian times. It was accompanied by a gold sovereign and two pounds, also not intended to circulate.
Recorded mintage: 1,000 plus 2,000 proofs.
Specification: 39.94 g, 0.917 fine gold, 36 mm diameter.
