Sincona sale 86, lot 1797

This specimen was lot 1797 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$1,010 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Proof Gold 50 Pence 2010, Royal Mint Llantrisant. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Girl Guides. Sehr selten. Nur 355 Exemplare geprägt, Mit Originaletui und Zertifikat, Very rare. Only 355 pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box and certificate. No. 308 of 355 sets."

The SCWC does not list this design in gold, only in copper-nickel and silver. Other fifty pence for 2010 include KM 1112 (royal arms) and KM 1132 (Britannia).

Recorded mintage: 510,090 plus proofs plus more in silver plus 355 in gold.

Specification: copper-nickel, 8 g, 27.3 mm diameter, or 8 g, 0.925 fine silver.
