England (1544-47) 1/2 groat
This specimen was lot 22691 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Groat, ND (1544-47). Henry VIII. ICG VF-30. No mintmark variety. Pleasing overall with a touch of micro-granularity over the surfaces." Debasement was rapid and severe in this period. Half a groat was tuppence.
