This specimen was lot 57 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 8,750 CHF (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Grossbritannien | Königreich. Henry VIII. 1509-1547. 1/2 Angel n. d. (1544-1547), Tower Mint. Third coinage. Mintmark lis. Annulet on ship. NGC MS62+. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (Magnificent condition.)" The angel, introduced during the Wars of the Roses, was one-third of a pound or six shillings eight pence. The half angel shown here would be three shillings four pence, or between a half crown and crown in value.
