Prussia 1913-A 3 mark KM-534
This specimen was lot 22633 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Prussia. 3 Mark, 1913. Berlin Mint. PCGS PROOF-63 Deep Cameo Gold Shield. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the defeat of Napoleon, this charming proof issue offers exceptionally brilliant and mirrored surfaces creating an alluring cameo nature. Some scattered light hairlines and marks are noted, but are entirely consistent with the grade assigned." This commemorative was minted in larger numbers than the military bust type of 1913 (KM 535) and is today common. A two mark (KM 532) used the same design.
Recorded mintage: 3,000,000 plus proofs.
