Künker sale 354, lot 6526

This specimen was lot 6526 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €3,400 (about US$4,732 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, PREUSSEN, Wilhelm II. 1888-1918. 20 Mark 1913, A. Kaiser in Uniform. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung PF 64 CAMEO (1756399-001). Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Polierte Platte. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, William II, 1888-1918, twenty mark of 1913, uniformed bust. Graded NGC PF-64 Cameo. Rare in this quality, choice example, proof)"

This type, issued 1913-15, is common and is a product of the Berlin mint (mintmark "A"). It was accompanied by silver two, three and five mark pieces.

Recorded mintage: 6,102,730 (including KM 521).

Specification: 7.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW.
