Künker sale 294, lot 4374

This specimen was lot 4374 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €260 (about US$351 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, SACHSEN-WEIMAR-EISENACH, Carl Alexander, 1853-1901. 2 Mark 1898. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (unified silver coinage, duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Charles Alexander, 1853-1901, two mark of 1898, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This one year type is rather scarce.

Recorded mintage: 100,000 + proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, .321 troy oz ASW.
