Sincona sale 4, lot 4607

This specimen was lot 4607 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 6,750 CHF (about US$8,979 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Kaiserreich Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Fürstentum Günther Viktor, 1890-1918. 10 Mark 1898, Berlin. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Germany, Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Gunther Victor, 1890-1918, ten mark of 1898, Berlin mint. Extremely fine to nice extremely fine.)"

This coin is the only gold issue of this ruler, who also emitted two mark coins in silver. All are products of the Berlin mint.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 plus 700 proofs.

Specification: 3.98 g, 0.900 fine gold, .115 troy oz AGW.
