Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt 1898-A 2 mark
The first specimen was lot 3378 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$422 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Fürstentum, Günther Viktor, 1890-1918. 2 Mark 1898 A, Berlin. Vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. (Germany, principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Gunther Victor, 1890-1918, two mark of 1898, Berlin mint. Extremely fine, Attractive patina.)"
The second specimen was lot 6388 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,183 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT, Günther, 1890-1918. 2 Mark 1898. Fast Stempelglanz. (principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Gunther, 1890-1918, two mark of 1898, about uncirculated.)"
This type, the only silver coin emitted by this ruler, is somewhat scarce.
