This specimen was lot 38414 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Wurttemberg. 10 Mark, 1898-F. Stuttgart Mint. Wilhelm II. NGC Unc Details--Obverse Cleaned." This type was struck 1893-1913. Several German states issued gold five mark in 1877 but the denomination was abandoned in favor of a silver five mark, gold being restricted to ten and twenty mark pieces. This date is common.
