Sincona sale 4, lot 4465

This specimen was lot 4465 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011) where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$266 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Fürstentum Friedrich Günther, 1807-1867. Vereinstaler 1859, München. Kl. Kr. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Frederick Gunther, 1807-67, union thaler of 1859, Munich mint. Hairlines, nice extremely fine)."

. Despite the tiny mintage, this coin is not especially expensive, suggesting that it was extensively saved.
