Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt 1846 2 gulden Dav-914
This specimen was lot 4389 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,570 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWARZBURG, SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1711 FÜRSTENTUM. Friedrich Günther, 1807-1867. Doppelgulden 1846. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Frederick Gunther, 1807-67, double gulden of 1846. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This one year type is the only issue of this denomination from this state. While expensive, it is not as rare as the tiny mintage might lead one to believe. A three kreuzer, six kreuzer, half gulden and one gulden were also issued in 1846.
