Künker sale 403, lot 1593

This specimen was lot 1593 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,231 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Clemens XIII. 1758-1769. Zecchino AN I/1758, Rom. GOLD. Fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 138, Osnabrück 2008, Nr. 4773. (Papal States, Clement XIII, 1758-69, zecchino of the year 1, 1758, Rome mint. About extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1758-59, 1764-66, 1769 for Clement XIII (1758-69) and is among the more common of papal ducats. It is accompanied by a half ducat (Fr-238) and a double ducat (Fr-236).
