This specimen was lot 30240 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,351.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Papal States. Clement XIII gold Zecchino 1759 Anno II MS63 NGC. A brilliant offering with attractive, flashy surfaces that hold much original bloom and only a few, minor ticks within the fields. Scarce in this choice condition." This type was struck 1758-59, 1764-69 for Clement XIII (1758-69) and is among the more common of papal ducats. It is accompanied by a half ducat (Fr-238) and a double ducat (Fr-236).
