It was originally valued at 22 sols tournois; after various manipulation, the value finally settled at 17½ sols tournois. This specimen was lot 2642 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$302 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANKREICH Königreich und Republik, Louis XIV. 1643-1715. 1/4 Ecu aux trois couronnes 1709 N, Montpellier. Mit Münzmeisterzeichen Stern unter der Büste, für Jean Gillot (Direktor der Münzstätte Montpellier 1704 - 1720). Sehr seltener Jahrgang und Münzstätte. Sehr schön. Kein weiteres Vorkommen bekannt.
