Heritage sale 3038, lot 34712
Great Britain H3038-34712r.jpg

This specimen was lot 34712 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "James I (1603-25) 1/2 Crown 1604-05 VF25 NGC, Second coinage of 1604-19, Lis mm. This piece retains iridescent-toned mint luster in protected areas throughout." The crown of five shillings was formerly a gold coin but in James's reign gradually became a silver coin, accompanied by the half crown. This one is rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.925 fine silver.

Catalog reference: S-2653, North-2098 (VR), KM 29.
