Sincona sale 54, lot 483

This specimen was lot 483 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$1,904 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, James I. 1603-1625. Unite o. J. (1604-1605), London. Münzzeichen Lilie. Gutes sehr schön. Kleiner Schrötlingsriss. (kingdom of Great Britain, James I, 1603-25, undated gold unite, London mint, lys mintmark. Good very fine, Minor flan crack at the edge.)"

This unite of James' second issue was accompanied by a rose ryal (Fr-230), angel, half angel, spur ryal (Fr-231), double crown (Fr-235), crown (Fr-238) and half crown. With the accession of James I we drop "England" as the country name and adopt the current "Great Britain."
