This specimen is one of a type struck at the Bogotá mint 1872-74. This specimen was part of lot 31967 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), which sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Lot of 25 Minors, Denominations, dates, and grades vary. Close inspection is a must." It is readily available in the circulated, cleaned condition shown here. Silver five centavos were struck until 1885.
