Stephen Album sale 50, lot 1219

This specimen was lot 1219 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN: MAJORCA: Ferdinand VII, First Reign, 1808, AR 30 sous, 1808, interesting octagonal issue, 30. S. FER VII 1808 // shield, XF, ex Dr. Robert A. Rosenfeld Collection. Struck in Palma during quarantine for a yellow fever outbreak." Some of these were struck on round plancehts (KM CL7.1 and KM CL7.2); a rare variety exists without the "FER VII" stamped in (KM CL52.2).
