This specimen was lot 4565 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Spain. 30 Sous, 1821. Emergency Issue (1821-1823). Ferdinand VII. Issued for Palma de Mallorca. Originally toned and well struck. PCGS graded EF-40." The circumstances of this issue are not clear; the issues of 1808 were made while Spanish patriots were in retreat from Napoleonic invasion.
