Sincona sale 26, lot 3536

This specimen was lot 3536 in Sincona sale 26 (Zurich, October 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Silberdukat 1785. Gutes vorzüglich. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, silver ducat of 1785, good extremely fine.)"

This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century until 1794. The SCWC catalogs this as Dav-4914, which is only correct for the pre-1700 issues. The weak strike on this specimen is common on this series.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 28.25 g, 0.873 fine silver, .792 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: Delmonte 976, Dav-1848, KM 52.4.
