This specimen was lot 25374 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $2,449.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "Nicholas I Poltina (1/2 Rouble) 1830 CПБ-HГ, Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date below / Crowned four-line inscription in wreath, AU58 PCGS. Bold details with gray and gold patina over lustrous surfaces with a few light marks." Altho struck in much much smaller numbers than the contemporary ruble, this type struck at St. Petersburg 1826-31 has a lower catalog value.
Recorded mintage: 290,000.
Specification: 10.36 g, 0.868 fine silver.
