This specimen was lot 25378 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $1,150. The catalog description[2] noted, "Nicholas I Rouble 1827 CПБ-HГ, Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date below / Crowned four-line inscription in wreath, AU53 PCGS. Russet toning with underlying luster." This type was struck 1826-31 in reasonable quantities but is today very rare in nice condition. The preceding type (Dav-281) is very similar but with a "wings up" eagle.

Recorded mintage: 584,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
